Write a response to having read both the Rosenberg version and the graphic novel version of the Ramayana.
Some considerations:
What are some of the major differences between the two versions?
How did reading a graphic novel enhance your understanding of the Rosenberg version?
What value, if any, do you think there is in graphic versions of classical literature such as the Ramayana?
Did you like one version better than the other? Why?
You were asked to read the Rosenberg text first. Would this be the order in which you would advise others read them as well?
Do you think graphic novels such as this should be considered "serious literature" or are they more for fun and entertainment?
Please don't just go through and answer each of these questions! Consider them, but also include what you would like to say about these texts in terms of hero analysis, mythology, comparison and contrast, story analysis, reader response, etc.
